A Poem That Sings

March 16, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

- $55 – $65

Poems often tell or suggest stories. Yet, for poetry, the music of the language is paramount. In this class, we will distinguish between narrative and lyric structures. We will begin by exploring a series of model poems to discover how they incorporate their stories without being burdened by narrative weight, so that the poems still sing. Then, we will explore work from the class, focusing on strategies for new possibilities and inspiration.
