The personal essay is an effective method for uncovering the deeper thoughts, causes, and concerns that lie beneath your lived experience. It’s also a compelling format for directly communicating what you think and feel about a topic, a way of conveying personal experience or expertise in a subject in a conversational tone that invites the reader into your world. In this course, we’ll use readings, discussion, and writing exercises to learn how to artfully express ourselves. Note: This course meets 2 Thursdays: November 7 & 14.
