As part of Charlotte Lit’s Beautiful Truth initiative, renowned poet Terrance Hayes will be here for two days of events.
On Friday, February 1 at 7 pm, Terrance will read from and discuss his work, in the context of using personal narratives to share our stories. This event includes the release of the next 4X4CLT Poetry+Art Posters, featuring poetry by Terrance Hayes.
Event tickets (obtained below) are $10, but we’d like everyone to be able to attend regardless of means. We are asking each ticket buyer who is able to purchase a second ticket to sponsor a community member who needs assistance with the ticket price. If you cannot easily afford a ticket but would like to attend, please select the “sponsored ticket” option.
Terrance Hayes is the author of American Sonnets for My Past and Future Assassins, a finalist for the 2018 National Book Award in Poetry; To Float In The Space Between: Drawings and Essays in Conversation with Etheridge Knight; How to Be Drawn; Lighthead, which won the 2010 National Book Award for poetry; Muscular Music, which won the Kate Tufts Discovery Award; Hip Logic, winner of the 2001 National Poetry Series, and Wind in a Box. Artist-in-residence at New York University, Hayes currently resides in New York City.
