Tricksters, Midwifes, Mothers, and Muses: Archetypes of the Creative Self

January 8, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

- $15 – $20

[Session 3 of the Series: Art & the Archetype: A Deep Dive into the Collective Unconscious for Writers, Artists, and Artists of Life.] Archetypal symbols are by nature multivalent, so most contain, in one form or another, raw seeds of creative energy. However, a number of symbols appear to hold so much creative potential they reign with godlike power over our creative imaginations. In this talk, mythologist Kathie Collins will present several of the best-known creator archetypes, exploring the ways they express themselves and emphasizing the tell-tale pattern each archetype leaves upon an artist’s work and life as it dances it way through the world.
