Writing Sprints

Charlotte Lit’s Writing Sprints have been suspended at least until May 1 due to Coronavirus concerns. Please watch our newsletter for updates.

Writing Sprints at Charlotte Lit are two-hour blocks of focused writing time, available for members* and held twice-weekly in Studio Two.

Each sprint session follows the Pomodoro Technique: 25 minutes of focused time during which you agree with yourself to sit and write, followed by a five-minute break — repeated four times, for a total of two hours.

Writing Sprints meet Monday evenings 6-8:00 p.m., and Thursdays 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. No pre-registration is required; just stop by.

*Not a member? You can come to a Writing Sprint and try it out without joining. Then, when you’re ready to become a member, you can do that here.

We’re looking for Writing Sprint hosts! Click here to volunteer to host one or more sessions. Hosts open the room, greet writers, explain how sprints work for new attendees, and run the timer (we use the Focus Keeper app). Thanks for helping!
