Memberships & Donations

Charlotte Lit launched in 2016 as a member and donor supported nonprofit arts organization. Memberships and private donations continue to be our primary source of funding, enabling us to serve the community with literary arts programming for readers, writers, and arts enthusiasts. On this page you’ll find two ways you can support our work — both tax deductible:

  • Memberships: payable annually or in monthly installments, with perks such as discounts on classes and use of our quiet writing studio.
  • Donations: One-time or monthly contribution, to be used “where needed” or earmarked for our scholarship fund.

To discuss a larger gift, legacy gift, or corporate sponsorship, please contact our Development Director, Sarah VanderWood: sarah (at)

However you choose to give, thank you for supporting the literary arts in Charlotte. We’re here for you, and couldn’t do our work without you.

Help provide scholarships for disadvantaged writers

Charlotte Lit wants everyone to be able to attend our classes and labs regardless of ability to pay. We have approximately $10,000 in annual requests for aid, and would like to fulfill them all. All donations fully tax deductible and warmly appreciated. To give, visit our campaign page.
