Where to Get Lit

Reading is a solitary activity, but there are many ways to enjoy literature in community. Here are ideas and links for places to go and things to do that will enhance your experience of the reading world.

Charlotte Lit

Charlotte Lit is for readers, too. Here are some ways to engage with books, literature, and writers even if you’re not a writer yourself.

Wednesdays@Lit – Monthly Lit-Based Social & Conversation

4X4CLT – Quarterly poetry+art poster release party and master class

Creative Exploration Classes – Many choices each year not geared toward writers, but to everyone

Bookstores

Local bookstores are great places to hear writers read from and discuss their work in an intimate setting. You’ll always get a chance to ask the writer questions and get your copy signed. And, bookstore employees love to talk books, so it’s a great place to find your next read or book club pick.
